Secret cinema 2011

Black attended the recent Secret Cinema show which saw Gillo Pontecorvo’s film ‘The Battle of Algiers’ screened in a ramshackle mock cinema at the Old Vic Tunnels, April-May 2011. SC turned the vaults into dusty dark eerie huge arabic streets and market bazaars….it was quite an event.

Black took photos shown here.

DJ Noir podcast – Episode 10

A swinging smattering of swell songs
A collection of tunes I discovered in 2010

Each chim charoo christmas I mix up a cd of tunes I have loved during that year for friends on Christmas eve, I again tip toe into their home and pop the cd into their stocking. This episode from the year 2010, contains gems from Tame Impala, Caribou and Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffitti, it is not so much a show as a collection of the rocking and the lamenting, sadly the Smoke Fairies missed out this year.

Glastonbury festival 40th year book

Black created the scrapbook celebrating 40 years of the Festival, the Glastonbury scrapbook features exclusive material from the personal archives of the Eavis family, from tickets and posters to pictures and personal messages tracing the event from its beginnings in 1970 through to the multi-stage extravaganza of today. Ideas are here like the pyramid page spread, with the pics forming a pyramid. Sticky and masking taped corners, dymo type and glued scrap paper messages help to create a personalised collection. I even managed to squeeze a pic or two of yours truly in the mix. Full colour and with hand-written captions by Emily and Michael, the Scrapbook is a 120-page look at the Festival over the years.
